May 2019 ACELL Federation clinic at ITF La Bisbal A group of players from the ACELL Federation recently had the opportunity to take part in a tennis clinic with rising Spanish tennis star Paula Badosa. The event was held as part of a special weekend of inclusive activities during the ITF World Tennis Tour $60,000 women’s event at Club Tennis La Bisbal, which took place from 13-19 May, and also saw clinics for wheelchair tennis players and blind tennis players. Prior to the tournament, the special tennis program also included visits to local elementary schools, where the children were able to ask questions to the players that usually practise at the Catalan Tennis Federation venue. Badosa, the 2015 Roland Garros junior champion and current world #128, took to the court with a group of players with intellectual disabilities in a fun session which highlighted the benefits of integrating tennis players of mixed abilities.
